Excellent day for bouldering at Cummingston today. Due to the high wind the rock was very dry which allowed for good friction. Warmed up with the usual traverse along the wall across the big stack, but instead of continuing along finished off at the tunnel/cave which is my favourite little problem at Cummingston: a real 'feel good' one to start a session. We moved on to the stack for some very unjoyable little balancing problems, before going across to the other side again. I need to hunt for my Cummingston bouldering guide so I know which problems we did. Didn't manage the horizontal hanging traverse today but will crack it next time. Finished with going up the crack near Diedre of Doubt, getting a little buzz of going slightly higher than intended. An excellent way to end a slightly lazy session :-).

Kinloss Wall 29/01/2009
It is still very dark at night so untill the clocks change we are still climbing indoors every week. I have to admit that I'm getting quite fed up with the climbing walls. It just isn't the same as outdoor climbing. However, to keep me motivated I've made it my goal to do at least one lead per week, in the hope that I'll be confident enough to do more leading outside this summer. It is all in the head... So this week we (MMC) went to the Kinloss RAF climbing wall again. There was a good number out: about 20 I think. It nearly felt crowded. But it was a great night. And a great opportunity to get my 'new' rope out and lead some easy stuff. Led A. on two climbs without losing my head or even the slightest worry, and I can see the buzz that leading a bit harder stuff will give when the time is ready.
All in all a fab night. Good company, some good climbs and fun on the bouldering wall. Hoping to go down to Cummingston for a few hours on saturday if the weather conditions allow.
